My sister’s wedding
June 25, 2006It was my sister's wedding this morning. It was held at Saint Ferdinand Cathedral in Lucena City. I wasn't part of the entourage but I still have to wear something decent. I was dressed in my usual business casual attire.
When we got to the church, I went straight to the front row seat. I was observing every person who attended the wedding. I got to meet my cousins whom I haven't seen for quite a long time. It was also a perfect time to meet my sister's friends, officemates and in-laws.
Then the music started playing. That marked the onset of the ceremony. I felt a little sad when I saw my sister marching down the aisle. I can't explain the feeling. I almost cried. It wasn't only once, but twice. But I was able to avoid it. Sure, it was hard. I don't know exactly why I felt that way.
After the wedding, we headed to the lovely reception site. It was a grand banquet hall in the city proper. It was such a cozy place with very accommodating staffs. The food was good. And the wine… Thank goodness, it was great!
After the reception, we went home because there were still a lot of people waiting there. Yes, your typical rurban wedding celebration. Wedding reception followed by another party expected to last the whole night.
I'm hoping that this happy moment will last forever for my sister and my brother-in-law. Wishing both of you the best life has to offer. God bless you!
The perks of loving another soul
A simple "Hi!" from her completes my day.
An email from her asking how my day was makes my heart beat faster.
Enjoying a cup of coffee with her doubles the effect of caffeine.
Seeing her smile takes my breath away.
It feels good to make her laugh even though I deliver a corny joke.
Talking with her makes me drop off all my worries.
Just the thought of her makes me smile like a stupid monkey.
The bad thing is that I can never have her… But who knows? Or it's just wishful thinking? Don't ask me. I don't know the answer either.
