They see more than we do

June 27, 2006

A scar that won’t heal. An incomplete and worthless life. A despondent soul. A heavy baggage for other people to carry.  A black curse that keeps on crushing families. A cause of disappointment to their parents.

This is how the world looks at the blind people. Very much inconsiderate. Unkind. Uncaring. Selfish.

Is it their fault to be such? Definitely no!

They are just victims. Victims who need our help. Victims who have suffered much. Victims who deserve a great deal of attention. Victims who need to be loved.

It’s never too late to make them feel good about their life. To comfort them. To make them feel that they are important. That they’re loved.

This one goes out to the group of blind people who performs every night at the Ayala Terminal in Makati City. You have been my source of inspiration ever since I worked in this busy city. Thanks for always putting a smile on my face.
