Young and idealistic

August 31, 2006

Do you remember how idealistic you were after graduating from college? You said to yourself that you'll do everything the right way. That you'll give your best shot in everything that you do. Mediocrity is not an option. Excellence is a must.

And you started working. You realized that the real world is not easy. People play filthy games. People use dirty tricks. Only then that you recognized the fact that people really are selfish beings. Most of the time, they take advantage of other people. They don't mind if the things they do are detrimental to others. What is important for them is that they get what they want.

Yes, the system is corrupt but never let the system eat you. You know what is right and what's not. You've got a choice dude!

Crappy little things

August 29, 2006

When times get rough and nobody is there to help you… Find a peaceful place. Spend some time alone. Breathe fresh air. Let the wind take all your worries away. Don’t ask why such things happen.

Grey’s

August 27, 2006

This afternoon, I bought DVD copies of Grey’s Anatomy series 1 and 2. Initially, the sales lady offered me 100 pesos per disc. I was able to close the deal at 70 pesos per disc. The said sales lady asked me to go inside their booth and gave me the discs. She secretly told me that the customer who was standing beside me when I asked for a lower price was paying 90 pesos per disc. Well, it must be my good looks. Wahahaha.

When I got home, I turned my laptop on and checked if the discs are working fine. Unfortunately, only the second disc is readable. I went back to the DVD store to get a replacement. The one who was attending to the store that time was not the same sales lady who attended to me when I bought the DVDs. I was asked if I really bought the DVDs from their store. I found myself explaining and describing the sales lady who sold the DVDs to me.

To cut the long story short, I was able to get a replacement for the defective disc. And I have started watching series 1. At 8pm, I’m done watching up to the third episode. In as much as I want to finish series 1, it is not just possible. I still have two papers to finish. I’m planning to watch the whole thing on weekend.

For my parents….

August 20, 2006

Today is my dad’s birthday. Yesterday was my mom’s. We celebrated their birthdays today. We attended the mass this afternoon. After which, we went to a mall near the church. We had our dinner in a restaurant there.  I took pictures of them with the other members of our family. Yes, the new addition to our family was there – my brother-in-law. I was able to see the joy in their eyes. I have proven that simple things can really make people happy.

After having our dinner, we went to the house furnishings department of the mall. We’re looking for a new sofa that would match the color of our living room. Everyone was excited but we didn’t buy any. Hehehehe.

We then bought a delightful cake for them, and purchased a gallon of ice cream too. Today is really a special day. Everything is so perfect. I love being with them. Or should I say, "I love them!" Well, both statements are valid.

———————————

I hope that one day,

I'll be able to say.

"I love you Nay, I love you tay!"

hehehehe…  di ko kaya e.. nahihiya ako.. :)

Whatta!

August 19, 2006

Last Monday, I went to Macapagal Avenue with my friends. We headed to the seafood market. The marketplace offers the pick of the freshest fishes, shrimps, mussels, crabs etc. While choosing what to buy, there were a number of people who offered to cook for us. They’re employees of the wide array of restaurants adjacent to the seafood market. They’re running after every would-be customer. Telling good things about their respective restaurants just to convince people to come to their place.

After almost thirty minutes in the wet market, the plastic bag I was carrying weighed more than 4 kilograms. Tuna belly, big crabs, large shrimps, and many others.

We decided to go to the nearest restaurant. The good thing about the restaurants there is that customers can have the seafood cooked according to their preference. We had the tuna belly grilled and the big crabs steamed. The large shrimps were turned into delightful tempura. We also had some veggies and a big bowl of steamed rice. It was like a meal for a death convict before his execution.
