Fleeting Escape

6:35AM

To my left is the water’s edge of La Union, and to my right is the ragged terrain of Baguio City. The road is covered with fog making it hard for the driver to maneuver the bus. I’m enjoying the wonderful view while holding a 500mL-bottled water. The plastic bottle steadily crumples as the bus descends. The sudden change in altitude is also causing a discomfort to my ears - a weird popping sensation.

Stopover @ La Union . Hot coffee, eggplant omelet, a cup of rice and one-piece longganisa.

The clouds over the rice fields of Pangasinan look so unreal. Each cloud’s silver lining is very much noticeable. The sky appears to be a Photoshop-enhanced image.

An array of mango trees along the road in Tarlac looks like a bunch of broccoli leaves. Yummy yum.

10:30AM

Stopover @ Tarlac. Caldereta, one cup of rice and a bottle of Gatorade. I heard from the driver that there’d be another stopover at Dau, Pampanga. Not excited about it. I don’t like the terminal at Dau. It’s a bit out of form and dirty.

11:30AM

Stopover @ Dau, Pampanga. No plan of buying something to eat.

12:30PM

MRT-North EDSA Station. Tired. My eyes are getting heavy. Headed to Ayala Station. I’m planning to go to KFC for lunch.
