1408
September 16, 2007Legs crossed with a can of soda on your right hand. Popcorn on the other. Comfortably seated on a lazy boy leather chair while watching Stephen King’s creepy short story 1408. You thought that the movie is not that scary because of the witty role John Cusack portrayed at the start of the film. You got sleepy so you took a gulp of soda. You suddenly heard the other movie-goers screaming. “I don’t want to watch it anymore!” someone cried. The screaming gave you a high. You then watched the movie more closely. Then there’s blood everywhere. On the walls. On the shower curtain. On the door. On Mr. Enslin’s shirt and pants. Loud thunderstorms stamped the actor’s heart several times. You shared the same emotion. You felt that you’re in the very scene in the movie. You sensed the coldness of the heavy rain that dampened the whole 1408. You felt the same magnitude of terror the actors in the movie felt when they jumped out of the window to escape from the hell-like hotel room. You closed your eyes to momentarily break away from the dread. Seconds later, you opened your eyes realizing that someone was intently looking at you – a mad man. He was moving closer to you inch by inch while holding a razor-sharp knife dripping with blood. You didn’t know what to do. You were screaming but no one seemed to hear you. You ran away as fast as you could but he was going much closer to you. You headed to the fire exit but before you were able to open the door, the mad man was already holding your left arm. And he started stabbing you at your back. You managed to take five steps away from him when he let go of you. You get hold of your cell phone and dialed a friend’s number to ask for help. Long before your friend answered the phone, you fell down on the floor. All of a sudden, the surrounding turned into black and then you heard a ring. You woke up, turned on the light, and wrote everything down so you will not forget the creepiest dream you ever had.
