Simply Amazing!
November 15, 2007For countless months, I have been looking for a mobile internet solution that matches my needs. I have looked into several packages like PLDT WeRoam and Globe Visibility. Most of them, if not all, will require the subscriber to purchase additional device/devices, to enter a contract that specifies prearranged subscription duration, to look for precise locations which they call “Hotspot,” to buy prepaid cards, etc. With so many prerequisites plus the fact that these mobile internet solutions are very expensive, I opted not to get one.
More than a year ago, I purchased a brand new Nokia 6233 cellphone. I got the said 3G phone even before its commercial was aired in any Philippine TV stations. That is not really a “wow” thing because I bought it from a bargain store in Glorietta. It was more than 40% cheaper than the price of the said item being sold at Nokia Store.
Some weeks after, Smart Telecommunications introduced “High Speed Internet from Smart Buddy 3G.” After learning the good news, I bought a new Smart SIM and a call-and-text prepaid card. When I tried to activate the 3G service, I got an error saying that my phone is not yet supported. I then called Smart Customer Center to check if they can do something about it. Unluckily, there’s nothing that can be done that time.
Just this morning, I checked SMART’s website and learned that they’ve already updated the list of 3G handsets that they are supporting. I was very happy to see my phone in the list. I didn’t waste a single second to avail of this wonderful offer.
Opportunity in Adversity
November 13, 2007I didn't worry about the recent sharp drop in the Philippine Stock Market. Instead, I did some sort of experiment on how to take advantage of it. And guess what, it's working.
:)
Boomboom (again)
November 11, 2007Boomboom went to church this morning. Of course, not alone. He was with his parents. He's getting more and more adorable each day.
MIS Comprehensive Exam
November 10, 2007Ok, so yesterday was the day… Hehe. I took the MIS Comprehensive exam at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Banos, Laguna. The exam was divided into two parts. The first part was from 9am to 12pm. The second part was from 1pm to 4pm. Well, just like in most of the exams I've taken, I consumed only half of the allotted time. So that gave me enough time to do other things. After the exam, I headed to the registrar's office of the University of the Philippines Los Banos to get some school documents and mailed them to a university in the US. After which, I went to a mall and bought a large, thick towel. What for? Well, I just thought that time that a two-hour swim is enough to unwind. Splash Mountain! I discovered that hot spring and cold rain is a good combination… Some pics…
And one of the relaxing pools of Splash Mountain…
